Plus, color efex puts everything on a separate layer by default anyway, so layer masking that way is easy. Well there is a kind of masking in Color Efex through control points. You can't do that with Nik colour effex, wich is also very good in it's own way but topaz restyle is completely different. You can fine tune the colours in 5 ways and mask out anything you don't want to be coloured. I've downloaded the OnOne free presets but hardly ever use them (which really doesn't mean anything I know). Also, you will be able to see if the image. Sometimes an image just needs a bit of punch with some different colors to get a really fabulous result. I've been a Topaz user longer than Nik so I sort of feel like supporting them. Topaz claims that ReStyle works differently than other software. As I'm sure you've found out, getting to know software like this takes a lot of time and experimenting. There is more then enough diversaty in restyle to make it worthwhile to have in your arsenal and different enough to co-exist next to colour effex and onone effects.Does it offer much or anything that Nik Color Efex or OnOne Perfect Effecs can't offer, as I already have both of those and a whole bunch of downloaded presets for them? ![]() You can remove them, but that's not the point with masking.Ĭolour effex can't tweak midtones, restyle does. Due to Topaz ReStyle, one can adjust the color modes of their photo, adjust the brightness, saturation and contrast, as well as apply masks. Yes you have control points, as their name suggests, control points, you can't mask them out. Topaz ReStyle provides users with dedicated 8BF filters that can be integrated within compatible products so that they can enhance their images. You can't tweak the colours in Colour effex the way you can in restyle. ![]() I've downloaded the OnOne free presets but hardly ever use them (which really doesn't mean anything I know). Topaz ReStyle is the newest program in the Topaz Labs plugin lineup It is one awesome piece of color manipulating software. I've been a Topaz user longer than Nik so I sort of feel like supporting them. I expected it to be very slow due to the comments here but it's very fast on my rig.ĭoes it offer much or anything that Nik Color Efex or OnOne Perfect Effecs can't offer, as I already have both of those and a whole bunch of downloaded presets for them? ![]() I wish they would focus more on Denoise (make it faster and easier to use), but no, they chosen to go after the instagram kind of users that want a one click way to "spicify" their photos.Ī new plug-in has been announced by Topaz Labs called Topaz restyle. Then this approach to processing which involves blindly clicking on presets made by others is just a huge turn off for me. It had to precalculate all those effects.why? what if I don't want to use all of them? It is very very slow, took like 3 minutes until the start up setup finished. I played a bit with it and I have to say I was very unimpressed.
